Why immersive problem-solving brings out the best in teams
The last thing your company needs is a team-building exercise that feels like a dull and enforced protocol – a handful of scheduled hours here, a planned activity there, and then it’s back to the grindstone.
On the contrary, when executed with purpose and consideration, team experiences can have a real, lasting effect on how people work together.
By their very design, Escape Rooms can create that holy grail dynamic that business leaders should be searching for during team events. Drawing people into a story, setting a clear challenge, and shifting the team energy in a way that traditional workshops rarely do.

Breaking through the conventional
The perfect example of how Escape Room scenarios can boost morale and collaboration in a work environment came during EY’s onboarding interns event.
Faced with the challenge of engaging 450 new starters across a large-scale experience, Challenger Escapes built a table-top Escape Room activity around the firm’s "Adventure Awaits" platform.
Over 90 minutes, teams competed in fast-paced challenges designed to bring the EY story to life. It ended with an in-character host leading a final puzzle on stage. The result? A 9.4/10 participant rating – the highest-rated session of the entire programme.

Encouraging better communication
The best Escape Rooms make teamwork feel natural. They encourage active listening, quick thinking, problem-solving and open conversation.
Crucially, the success comes not only from teaching the value of those skills, but by making it the only way to triumph!
This was key to a project with Brit Insurance, where the goal was to educate staff about cybersecurity through an immersive, industry-relevant Escape Room. Challenger Escapes transformed a meeting room into a story-driven experience that tackled real-world risks – from phishing to password safety – through puzzles and hands-on challenges. It ran over four days, with 100% uptake and overwhelmingly positive feedback.
In each session, the puzzles couldn’t be solved alone. Participants had to talk, test ideas and share discoveries. A fully live, memorable lesson in what communication looks like when it matters.

Recharging morale and energy
That was the case with Pictet Asset Management, who asked Challenger Escapes to design a conference energiser that reconnected their team to the company’s story.
The experience was designed around their core messaging, with every puzzle tied to the outcomes of the wider event. Teams worked through a bespoke table-top Escape Room in timed rounds, creating a real buzz and competitive edge – even after two full days of conference sessions.
The session became the highest-rated training element of the event, and the client has continued to work with Challenger Escapes across further projects.

Designed with purpose, delivered with care
Challenger Escapes builds can deliver corporate events that bring working teams together and create momentum. Each experience is built to suit your team, your goals and your environment. From permanent installations and pop-up fit-outs to touring builds that visit multiple locations, the focus stays the same: high quality, high engagement, and real outcomes.
