Internal Communications Reimagined

Turning Company Messages into Interactive Games

Escape Rooms are redefining how internal messages are shared and remembered

Internal communication within a company has a clear purpose: to inform, engage and align brand messages.

But in practice, getting teams on board to retain that information can be a more complex challenge altogether.

Challenger Escapes offers an entirely different way to land those messages – one that doesn’t rely on fleeting attention spans or slide decks. By transforming internal comms into high-impact, narrative-led puzzle games, we help businesses turn passive messaging into active engagement.

Brand messages that make an impact

Tabletop Escape Rooms are compact, high-energy games designed to be played in groups. Each one is created around a storyline that aligns with your goals and reinforces the key points you want team members to take away.

Instead of simply receiving information, participants discover it. Indeed, the process of uncovering clues, connecting themes and solving problems gives those messages structure. And it sticks.

At Pictet Asset Management’s internal conference, we created a tabletop experience designed entirely around their 200-year history. Puzzles were built from real details – including historical coasters, brand artefacts and visual codes – turning a timeline into something people could physically explore and solve. It was the final session of the day, yet it ranked as the most engaging part of the entire conference.

Replacing static sessions with interactive problem-solving

Internal communication within a business can take many forms. It might be embedded into an away day, a leadership meeting or a launch presentation. That’s why our tabletop challenges are made to be flexible. They work as a high-impact icebreaker, a structured team challenge, or a focused workshop session built around one message or theme.

For one global consultancy, we created a full-scale tabletop game to introduce their incoming cohort of 450 interns to a new learning platform. Teams worked together to complete tech-driven puzzles, navigate a storyline built from internal tools, and build cross-departmental relationships in the process. The result was a standout onboarding session – rolled out again across offices in Europe the following quarter.

When Brit Insurance needed to raise awareness around cybersecurity best practices, they asked us to create a fully themed Escape Room within their office, with puzzles teaching password hygiene, phishing recognition and secure document handling. Teams took part over several days, and uptake hit 100%. Internal feedback described it as one of the most useful and memorable training sessions of the year!

Designed to be played anywhere

Escape Room experiences are built to fit neatly into the structure of your event. Set up as a breakout, placed at tables during a lunch session or run as a competitive team activity, they adapt to the room – and the people within it.

Each challenge is made to deliver a carefully constructed brand message in a way that’s easy to follow, hard to forget, and enjoyable to be involved in. There’s space for creative flourishes, but no wasted time. An entirely bespoke experience, centred around gamified mechanics, structured for clarity and impact.

At EY’s intern induction, we designed a table-based game that reinforced their “Adventure Awaits” messaging. It ran across multiple large rooms, all synced with a live facilitator. Interns worked in small teams to solve puzzles shaped around EY’s tools, platform and values. What could have been a static session became a competitive, high-energy launch to the programme – and has since been licensed for use across other regional offices.

Building understanding through action

Challenger Escapes designs every experience entirely from scratch – which means no generic content, no pre-made puzzles, and no confusion of themes. If your internal message focuses on a new compliance process, we’ll help you turn that into the story. If you want to energise people around your next strategy, we’ll translate that into an interactive challenge.

The logic is simple: when people interact with information through problem-solving, the details are remembered.
